The Asian-Pacific Symposium on Engineering Blasting will be held from May 8 to May 11, 2007 in Kunming, China. This Symposium is intended to provide an opportunity for experts, scholars, as well as entrepreneurs throughout the Asian-Pacific area to exchange their academic and technical achievements in engineering blasting, industrial explosives and other related fields. Since the 1^st circular announcement’s issuing, this symposium received great attention and support from Engineering Blasting field domestically as well as other countries of the Asian-Pacific region. The Organizing Committee has received a total of 198 papers, 122 ones with high academic and practical value are approved and accepted by the experts from the organizing committee, among which 32 papers are from countries other than China. Metallurgical Industry Press, China will be responsible for the publishing of the English version of the symposium proceedings, which will be delivered to participants during the session. We believe this session of the Asian-Pacific Symposium and the publication of the regarding proceedings will make great contribution to further development of industrial explosives and engineering blasting technology throughout the Asian-Pacific region and the whole world.

People involved in explosives industry, engineering blasting and other related fields are warmly welcome to the symposium.
